Casa do Padre

The Casa do Padre was built by a local priest at the end of the 19th century with nordic influence architecture. This touristic investment is located in the center of the Porto Bom hamlet, that belongs to Ponte da Barca village, Viana do Castelo city. This is a small typical mountain village of Alto Minho, situated in Serra do Oural, 10km away from Ponte da Barca and 14km away from Ponte de Lima.

Despite the proximity of these urban centers, the rural village of Porto Bom still retains many of the ancient agricultural and pastoral traditions typical of the mountain villages of Minho, because it’s still very much linked to extensive small farming and pastoralism.

This is a place for both those who want to rest and still be able to enjoy nature and those who need a little more adventure, with several hiking and cycling areas, where you can find wild horses. Porto Bom is close to Peneda-Gerês National Park, where you can try horseback riding, kayaking, rafting or paintball.

It is the perfect place for a peaceful vacation in the middle of the nature, keeping in mind the great cultural and gastronomic offer that these counties provide.
